Account Settings: Your Profile & Preferences
Manage your StoryCycle account, update your profile, and configure your preferences.
Where to Find Account Settings
Location: User menu (top right corner)
Click your profile picture or name, then select "Settings"
Personal Account Settings
Update Your Profile
Profile Information:
- Display name
- Email address
- Profile picture
How to Update:
- Go to Settings
- Update the fields you want to change
- Click "Save Changes"
Password Management
Change Your Password:
- Go to Settings → Security
- Click "Update Password"
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password
- Confirm new password
- Click "Update Password"
Password Requirements:
- Minimum 8 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
Forgot Password?
- Log out
- Click "Forgot Password?" on login page
- Enter your email
- Check your email for reset link
- Follow instructions to create new password
Email Preferences
Notification Settings:
- Platform updates
- Credit usage alerts
- New feature announcements
- Tips and best practices
How to Update:
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Toggle preferences on/off
- Changes save automatically
Team Account Settings
If you're using a team account, you can manage team-level settings.
Team Profile
Update Team Information:
- Team name
- Team logo/picture
- Team description
How to Update:
- Switch to team account (account selector in top left)
- Click Settings
- Update team information
- Click "Save Changes"
Team Members
See Team Collaboration for managing team members, invitations, and roles.
Billing & Credits
View Your Plan
Check Current Plan:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- View plan details:
- Plan name
- Credits included
- Billing cycle
- Next renewal date
Credit Balance
Monitor Your Credits:
- Current available credits
- Base credits from plan
- Add-on credits purchased
- Credit usage history

Add Credits
Purchase Additional Credits:
- Go to Billing
- Click "Add Credits"
- Select credit package
- Complete checkout
- Credits available immediately
Credit Packages:
- Small: 100 credits
- Medium: 500 credits
- Large: 1,000 credits
- Enterprise: Custom
Update Payment Method
Change Payment Information:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click "Update Payment Method"
- Enter new card information
- Click "Save"
Security Note: Payment information is securely processed through Stripe. StoryCycle never stores your full card details.
Upgrade or Downgrade Plan
Change Your Plan:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click "Change Plan"
- Select new plan
- Review changes
- Confirm
What Happens:
- Upgrade: Immediate access, prorated charge
- Downgrade: Takes effect next billing cycle
- Unused credits: Carry over to new plan
Account Security
Two-Factor Authentication (Coming Soon)
Enhanced security for your account with 2FA.
Active Sessions
View Active Logins:
- Go to Settings → Security
- See all active sessions
- Sign out from specific devices
If You See Unfamiliar Activity:
- Sign out all other sessions
- Change your password immediately
- Contact support
Danger Zone
Delete Account
⚠️ This action cannot be undone
What Gets Deleted:
- Your profile and account data
- All saved brand stories, audience stories, content playbooks
- All created content in Assets
- Chat history across all Genies
- Team memberships (you'll be removed from teams)
What's Preserved:
- Team accounts you own transfer to another member
- Billing history (required by law)
How to Delete Account:
- Go to Settings → Danger Zone
- Click "Delete Account"
- Type your email to confirm
- Click "Permanently Delete Account"
Before Deleting:
- Download any content you want to keep
- Transfer team ownership if applicable
- Cancel any active subscriptions
Alternative: Consider downgrading to a free plan instead of deleting.
Common Questions
Q: Can I change my email address? A: Yes, update it in Settings → Profile. You'll receive a confirmation email at the new address.
Q: How do I switch between personal and team accounts? A: Use the account selector in the top left corner. Click to see all available accounts.
Q: Why can't I change certain team settings? A: Only team owners can modify some settings. Contact your team owner if you need changes.
Q: What happens to my credits if I cancel? A: Unused credits are forfeited upon cancellation. Use them before canceling or downgrading.
Q: Can I pause my subscription? A: Downgrade to a free plan if you need a break. Your foundation and assets are preserved.
